University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Imaging Technician to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for performing a range of imaging tasks, including visual field measurements, disc imaging, and OCT, FFA/ICG, and slit lamp photography.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct visual field measurements and disc imaging using advanced equipment
  • Perform OCT, FFA/ICG, and slit lamp photography to diagnose and monitor eye conditions
  • Assist in the training and supervision of junior staff members
  • Contribute to departmental policies and procedures
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve departmental goals

Person Specification

  • Science A Level or equivalent experience
  • Significant experience of working within Ophthalmic imaging to degree level equivalent
  • A detailed understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the eye and a sound knowledge of ophthalmic conditions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in the use of Humphrey visual field analyser and other imaging equipment
