Senior Children's Community Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Children's Community Nurse to lead our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multi-professional team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people with complex and palliative care needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert nursing care and support to children and young people with complex and palliative care needs in their homes, schools, and community settings.
- Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to coordinate and provide care that meets the individual needs of each child and family.
- Contribute to Children's Continuing Care Assessments, Safeguarding meetings, teaching, competency training, staff support, and team management.
- Participate in palliative and end-of-life care, including contribution to a 24-hour on-call rota.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with children, young people, and their families to ensure high-quality care and support.

Person Specification- Essential Qualifications:
- Teaching and assessing qualification (e.g. SLAIP, ENB 998)
- Registered Sick Children's Nurse or Registered Nurse Child Branch
- Essential Experience:
- 3 years post-registration experience
- 2 years recent experience in a community or acute setting
- Experience and evidence in implementing change
- Able to demonstrate commitment to high-quality patient care
- Experience of multidisciplinary working
- Has an understanding of safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults
- Experience of working with children who have palliative care needs
- Experience of providing nursing care to children with complex needs
- Knowledge of audit and research
- Leadership and management experience
- Teaching/presentation experience
- Good computer skills
- Experience of supervising others or mentoring
- Awareness of the function and skills needed of a Lead Professional Role
- Knowledge of clinical and governance
