Position Overview

Contract Type: Fixed-term opportunity

We are pleased to announce a new fixed-term position aimed at developing a Clinical Psychology service dedicated to patients with cancer. This role will be hosted within our esteemed institution, where you will integrate into a dedicated team of Clinical Psychologists, collaborating across various domains of adult and pediatric health psychology. Regular team meetings will be held, and you will receive clinical supervision from a seasoned Clinical Psychologist.

We are seeking to fill this role across multiple healthcare trusts to ensure equitable access to psychological support for cancer patients. The selected candidates will work in unison to enhance service delivery and patient care.

Your primary duties will encompass direct clinical engagement with cancer patients, both in inpatient and outpatient settings. This may involve individual therapy as well as group interventions. You will also participate in multidisciplinary team discussions across various cancer specialties. Your clinical responsibilities will include time allocated at our main hospital and potentially at other community health venues.

In addition to clinical duties, you will play a pivotal role in establishing a sustainable service model that ensures equitable access to psychological support across the region. Engaging with service users will be essential in shaping the new service, and you will be responsible for conducting both quantitative and qualitative evaluations to support the service's longevity.
