Norwich, Norfolk, United Kingdom Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital Full time

Position Overview

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a leadership position in adult health psychology at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. This role is integral to the Clinical Psychology team, which operates across various domains of adult and pediatric health psychology. The position encompasses both leadership responsibilities within adult Clinical Psychology services and a direct clinical role focusing on palliative care and cystic fibrosis.

Key Responsibilities

The clinical responsibilities include working on cystic fibrosis within the Respiratory Medicine department, collaborating with a dedicated team of Consultants, experienced nursing staff, a physiotherapist, and a dietitian. The role will involve both inpatient and outpatient duties, necessitating careful management of limited hours to optimize outcomes for the clinical population.

The palliative care component entails working alongside Consultants, Nurses, and community palliative care personnel. Clinical tasks will encompass a blend of outpatient and inpatient work, supporting patients while fostering a psychologically-informed approach among the team. There is potential to tailor this mix based on the successful candidate's clinical interests, although flexibility regarding clinical space availability is advantageous.

The leadership aspect of this role will complement existing Consultant Clinical Psychologist positions in both adult and pediatric services, under the guidance of the Head of Psychology. A significant focus will be on advancing the development of a new oncology service at the hospital.
