Clinical Coding Specialist

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Coding Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring accurate and timely coding of patient records, contributing to the efficient operation of our healthcare services.

Responsibilities
  • Apply clinical coding standards and best practices to accurately code patient records.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of data protection regulations and confidentiality requirements in healthcare.
  • Collaborate with clinicians and administrative staff to ensure accurate and complete documentation for coding purposes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of coding policies and procedures.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities to maintain the accuracy and integrity of coded data.
Requirements Essential Criteria
  • Proven experience in clinical coding within a primary care setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of clinical coding standards and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of data protection regulations and confidentiality requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience with EMIS resource publisher, population reporting, and protocol creation.
  • Familiarity with advanced analytic tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Leadership experience in a clinical coding team.
