Ainsdale Medical Centre is seeking a dedicated and proactive Clinical Nurse Specialist to enhance our team of 21 healthcare professionals, including two other Practice Nurses, serving a diverse patient population of approximately 11,500 individuals.

The ideal candidate will possess recent experience in Primary Care, demonstrating enthusiasm, motivation, and a readiness to embrace challenges. Registration with the NMC is a prerequisite. While experience in managing long-term conditions and Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) is advantageous, it is not mandatory. Familiarity with childhood immunisations is preferred. You will receive comprehensive support from our existing clinical team.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be expected to:

Clinical Duties

The role encompasses the provision of general practice nursing services to the entire patient population. The focus will be on delivering evidence-based care for patients with long-term conditions and offering preventative health services. As an autonomous practitioner, the nurse will be accountable for the care provided, showcasing critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills in patient management. Collaboration with the general practice team is essential to address patient needs, uphold policies and procedures, and provide nursing leadership as necessary.

Communication Skills

  • Employ sensitive communication techniques to ensure patients are well-informed and consent to treatments.
  • Effectively communicate with patients and caregivers, recognizing the need for alternative communication methods to accommodate diverse backgrounds and understanding levels.

Quality Service Delivery

  • Operate within the scope of competence and adhere to the professional code of conduct as regulated by the NMC.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of patient consultations in accordance with relevant legislation and policies.
  • Organize and manage personal workload to uphold and enhance quality standards.
  • Deliver care in alignment with National Service Framework (NSF), National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines, and evidence-based practices.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of care delivery through self-assessment and peer review.
