About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reflective Assistant Psychologist to join our team in providing specialist psychological intervention to children, young people, and families in physical health settings.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support and enhance psychology input across all areas of the service, working under the supervision of qualified Clinical Psychologists.
  • Contribute to direct clinical work, psychological assessment and intervention, individual and group interventions with children and families, and analysing and reporting on outcome measurement data.
  • Develop and implement patient engagement activities, produce clinical/teaching/training materials, and participate in audit and service evaluation projects.
  • Explore the use of digital technology to enhance service delivery.

Requirements

  • Accredited honours degree in psychology.
  • Evidence of postgraduate professional development relevant to child psychology.
  • Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • High-level communication skills, including the ability to communicate sensitive information to patients, carers, and colleagues.
  • Experience working with children and families, producing clinical materials/resources, and working with people with mental health difficulties and/or disabilities.
