About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our Perinatal Mental Health Service as a Specialist Therapist. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a therapeutic psychological service to mothers and their babies who are in receipt of perinatal mental health services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct complex assessments and provide psychological formulations of mental health difficulties.
  • Develop and deliver individual and group interventions to support mothers and their babies.
  • Provide consultation and advice to professionals across community settings.
  • Undertake risk assessment and risk management, including risks to the unborn child.
  • Provide clinical supervision to psychologists in training, assistant psychologists, and other professionals as required.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and service development projects.
  • Utilize research skills to inform service development and improvement.

About the Team

Our Perinatal Mental Health Service is a specialist team that provides assessment, treatment, and support to women and their families who are experiencing severe and complex mental health problems during the perinatal period. We are a multidisciplinary team that works closely with women and their families to provide a comprehensive and patient-centered service.

Requirements

  • Postgraduate doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology, as recognized by the Health Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Registration with the HCPC.
  • Experience of working with a wide range of client groups, including those with complex mental health needs.
  • Experience of providing specialist psychological assessment and intervention across a range of settings.
  • Ability to work effectively within safeguarding procedures and to provide consultation and advice to professionals across community settings.
