Role Overview

We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity within EG Group for a Financial Operations Assistant Manager to join our Head Office. The selected individual will play a pivotal role in overseeing and directing the Country Finance operations.

This position will involve managing a team of Senior Finance Managers, who will in turn supervise a group of Senior Management Accountants, Management Accountants, and Assistant Management Accountants.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will be tasked with leading the execution of month-end and year-end audits, with a focus on continuous improvement and development of both the team and operational processes.

You will be expected to serve as a knowledgeable resource within the Country Finance team, guiding the professional growth of both non-qualified and qualified staff members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of accounting functions, particularly supporting the financial controller.
  • Aid in the establishment of internal controls, ensuring adherence to regulations and accounting standards.
  • Prepare Statutory Financial Statements.
  • Plan and oversee audit processes, taking ownership of critical deliverables.
  • Provide group and operational support for essential requirements and initiatives.
  • Lead the Financial Shared Services team within the organizational structure.
  • Facilitate the implementation of structural changes.
  • Manage processes effectively.
  • Oversee current internal controls including SBS, Journals, Pack, and Tracker.
  • Develop new internal controls related to Payroll, IFRS16, sales, and month-end reporting.
  • Prepare local statutory packs and manage related processes.
  • Reporting responsibilities include Cash to Revenue, impairment analysis, SAP versus BI comparisons, fuel analysis, business planning, supervisory board requests, balance sheet quality, and cash flow management.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven leadership and management skills.
  • Familiarity with German GAAP.
  • Expertise in Financial Accounting.
  • Experience in Compliance and Audit Management.
  • Strong Technical Accounting knowledge.
  • Ability to build and maintain Stakeholder Relationships.
  • Proficient in Process Mapping and Improvements.
  • Knowledge of Risk Management principles.
  • Expertise in Finance Systems.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified.
  • Over 7 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in year-end audits and month-end closures.
  • Comprehensive understanding of IFRS16 accounting treatment.
  • Desirable experience in business partnering, financial reporting, and commercial analysis.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and rapidly evolving business environment, multitask effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with SAP and Qube is advantageous.
