Overview of the Role

Our corporate team is pleased to announce a new opening at EG Group for a Lead Financial Operations Manager (Lease Management) to join our central office. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in establishing reliable and precise financial reporting concerning the organization's extensive lease portfolio while providing cross-departmental support for commercial decision-making.

Reporting directly to the Group Financial Reporting Director, the Lead Financial Operations Manager (Lease Management) will be an integral part of the Group Reporting team and will also offer continuous assistance to Country Finance and the Group Property & Real Estate division.

This position will focus on the application of comprehensive IFRS16 expertise to deliver thorough financial analysis. The organization seeks a candidate who can leverage relevant professional experiences to enhance the current control framework while managing data related to our IFRS16 database as part of a broader Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) initiative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the update and management of the organization's extensive lease portfolio, ensuring compliance with IFRS16 accounting standards.
  • Maintain control and ownership of data processed and extracted from the organization's lease management software.
  • Lead the preparation of monthly reconciliations and supporting documentation for country finance teams, including:
    • Creation of journal entries in the financial system.
    • Ensuring consistency of Right of Use (RoU) assets and liabilities across reported figures at both local and consolidated levels.
  • Maintain ownership of the process and control environment from record to report concerning RoU assets and liabilities under IFRS16.
  • Serve as the primary contact for various stakeholders, including:
    • Group Finance
    • Estates Team (Group and Country)
    • Country Finance teams
    • External Auditors
    • External Advisors
    • Software Providers
  • Assist in determining the organization's Incremental Borrowing Rate (IBR) and ensure its proper application.
  • Lead a standardized approach for IAS 17 methodology to support monthly external reporting across the organization's Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Conduct routine data integrity testing and validation, including:
    • Retrospective reviews
    • Source data verification
