JOB OVERVIEW

The Principal HSE Advisor is tasked with delivering prompt and effective counsel on all aspects related to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards in accordance with applicable Legislation, Corporate Policies, and Client specifications. This role is crucial in ensuring that potential business risks are identified and effectively managed.

This position may also involve mentoring and training other HSE Advisors within the Business Unit or Department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Formulating annual HSE enhancement strategies aligned with both Company and Client strategic goals.
  • Overseeing project HSE interface requirements, ensuring adherence to all existing documentation and contributing to the creation of future plans.
  • Communicating the stipulations outlined in HSE interface documents to all pertinent personnel.
  • Conducting investigations into HSE incidents and fulfilling the necessary reporting obligations.
  • Assisting in the coordination of both internal and external audits.
  • Disseminating critical insights from incidents and accidents as part of the Lessons Learned initiative to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Encouraging and sharing lessons learned from within the project; reporting any deficiencies in project and corporate functions and documenting all reportable issues within HSE systems.
  • Ensuring that project emergency response protocols are established and communicated to all personnel, while aligning project requirements with Client priorities.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with Client HSE Representatives and offshore/site Safety Representatives as necessary.
  • Managing attendance and engagement in project HSE meetings, workshops, and forums.
  • Maintaining a system for tracking HSE performance metrics.
  • Creating an offshore/site HSE visitation schedule for both personal and project/contract management, as well as for Corporate HSE management.
  • Fostering workforce participation in all HSE initiatives, activities, and programs.
QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:
  • C&G, ONC/HNC or equivalent in Technical, HSE, or a related field.
  • NEBOSH Certificate.
  • NVQ Level 4 IOSH (preferred).
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
  • Willingness to travel offshore as necessary.
  • Familiarity with Fab shop HSE practices is advantageous.
  • Substantial experience in a technical role or in conjunction with an HSE role.
  • Strong planning and organizational capabilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
