Role Overview

We are seeking a Lead Procurement & Subcontracting Specialist to enhance our Global Sourcing & Procurement team (GSP). This role involves collaborating with a team focused on supply chain management for subsea and renewable energy projects.

The Lead Procurement & Subcontracting Specialist will safeguard TechnipFMC's commercial and contractual interests across subsea projects, ensuring adherence to all GSP policies and procedures. This position requires the pursuit and maximization of commercial opportunities through effective supply chain management. Additionally, the role includes mentoring and guiding less experienced team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Procurement & Subcontracting Specialists and Project Buyers.
  • Advise project and tender teams on sourcing and procurement strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with GSP policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Encourage the proper use of procurement systems and tools such as ERP systems, Ariba SLP, and Ariba Sourcing.
  • Develop strategies and maintain project procurement plans in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare invitations to tender (ITTs) and manage sourcing activities.
  • Conduct supplier qualification activities in conjunction with the QHSE department and other stakeholders.
  • Perform bid evaluations and comparisons.
  • Draft subcontracts, identifying suitable contracting models and main contract flow-downs.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and manage clarifications.
  • Prepare award recommendations.
  • Oversee subcontract progress, expediting, and commercial management until closeout.
  • Provide supplier performance feedback.
  • Generate reports.
  • Promote lessons learned and best practices.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support departmental initiatives, including sourcing strategies and process development.
  • Assist in the development and administration of frame agreements.
  • Support global operating centers.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Experience in subcontract drafting and negotiation.
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
  • Background in supply chain or subcontracting environments.
  • Proactive approach with flexibility to manage changing priorities.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Team player with diplomatic skills to build constructive relationships.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills.

Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Knowledge of the renewables and/or oil and gas sectors.
  • Experience in project environments.
  • Familiarity with procurement systems, software, and tools such as SAP/Ariba.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Professional certification in supply chain management.
