About the Role

The National Grid is at the heart of the UK's energy system, ensuring a reliable and efficient supply of electricity. As an Engineering Delivery Manager, you will play a critical role in leading the engineering delivery for various programmes in the Engineering Solutions area.

About Us

The National Grid is Great Britain's electricity system operator, using its expertise to balance electricity supply and demand. We are committed to building a cleaner, greener Britain and are transitioning to become the National Energy System Operator (NESO) in 2024.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and lead high-performing engineering teams to deliver engineering solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Own the engineering delivery strategy and resource profile to ensure project delivery.
  • Manage interfaces with the overall delivery strategy for the wider programme.
  • Work with the Senior Delivery Manager to define the organisation and work breakdown required to deliver to customer needs.
  • Define the engineering team's work packages, including resources, budgets, risks, and assumptions.
  • Plan and prioritise activities to deliver the solution to the contract schedule, costs, and quality.
  • Manage the engineering team's activities, ensuring proactive management of issues, opportunities, and risks.
  • Work with the Scrum Master to report on engineering efficiency for the project.
  • Act as the People Manager for the engineering team and provide feedback into people manager reviews.

About You

We are looking for an experienced engineering professional with a strong track record in technical leadership, ideally within Azure. You should have a deep understanding of how to translate product and business goals into technology solutions.

What You'll Get

A competitive salary between £64,000 - £90,000, dependent on experience and capability. You will also receive a bonus of up to 15% of your salary for stretch performance, 28 days annual leave as standard, and a competitive contributory pension scheme.
