Engineering Project Delivery Manager

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Project Delivery Manager to join our team at National Grid plc. As a key member of our Engineering Solutions department, you will be responsible for leading the engineering delivery for a range of programmes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and lead high-performing engineering teams to deliver engineering solutions that meet customer needs.
- Own the engineering delivery strategy and resource profile to ensure project delivery.
- Manage interfaces with the overall delivery strategy for the wider programme.
- Work with senior delivery managers to define the organisation and work breakdown required to deliver to customer needs.
- Define engineering team work packages in terms of resources required, budgets assigned to each task, risks, and assumptions.
- Plan and prioritise activities required to deliver the solution to the contract schedule, costs, and quality.
- Day-to-day management of engineering team activities, ensuring proactive management of issues, opportunities, and risks.
- Work with Scrum Masters to report on engineering efficiency for the project.
- Act as People Manager for the engineering team on the project and provide feedback into people manager reviews.
We are looking for someone with:
- An engineering degree and 5+ years of management experience.
- Proven experience as a technical leader, ideally within Azure.
- Confidence in writing and reading code.
- Experience mentoring and coaching engineers.
- Experience developing engineering skills in line with business needs.
- Experience implementing best practice and ways of working across a team.
- Experience working in Agile environments and Agile culture and ethos.
- Deep understanding of translating product and business goals into technology solutions.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with a passion for sharing knowledge and helping others grow.
We offer a competitive salary, bonus, and benefits package, including:
- A competitive salary between £64,000 – 90,000, dependent on experience and capability.
- A bonus of up to 15% of salary for stretch performance.
