Key Responsibilities- Develop and lead high-performing engineering teams to deliver engineering solutions that meet customer needs.
- Own the engineering delivery strategy and resource profile to ensure project delivery.
- Manage interfaces with the overall delivery strategy for the wider programme.
- Work with the Senior Delivery Manager to define the organisation and work breakdown required to deliver to customer needs.
- Define the engineering team's work packages in terms of resources required, budgets assigned to each task, risks, and assumptions.
- Plan and prioritise activities required to deliver the solution to the contract schedule, costs, and quality.
- Manage the engineering team's activities, ensuring proactive management of issues, opportunities, and risks.
- Work with the Scrum Master to report on engineering efficiency for the project.
- Act as the People Manager for the engineering team on the project and provide feedback into people manager reviews.
We're looking for someone with:
- An engineering degree and 5+ years of management experience.
- Proven experience as a technical leader, ideally within Azure.
- Confidence in writing and reading code.
- Experience mentoring and coaching engineers.
- Experience developing engineering skills in line with business needs.
- Experience implementing best practices and ways of working across a team.
- Experience working in Agile environments and Agile culture and ethos.
- A deep understanding of translating product and business goals into technology solutions.
- A passion for what you do and a high interest in keeping up with current best practices in your areas of expertise.
- Excellent communication skills and a love for sharing knowledge with others.
A competitive salary between £64,000 - £90,000, dependent on experience and capability. A bonus of up to 15% of your salary for stretch performance, 28 days annual leave as standard, and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
