Job Description:

Victoria College of Arts and Design is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Student Wellbeing Manager. As a key member of our Student Services team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our students, ensuring their academic and personal well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Representing Student Wellbeing: Serve as the primary point of contact for student wellbeing-related matters, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and supported.
  • Leading the Student Services Team: Manage a cross-campus team responsible for delivering wellbeing and welfare services that enhance the student experience and meet the diverse needs of our students.
  • Providing Wellbeing Support: Offer direct support to students dealing with wellbeing issues, signposting them to external resources as necessary, and ensuring that they have access to the necessary resources and services.
  • Ensuring Student Satisfaction: Prioritize student wellbeing and safeguarding, ensuring that students have an exceptional experience at Victoria College of Arts and Design.
  • Collaborating with Academic Teams: Liaise with Academic Managers to ensure that wellbeing support is efficient, effective, and meets the needs of all students.
  • Delivering Workshops and Events: Arrange and deliver cross-campus wellbeing workshops, webinars, and awareness-raising events to promote student wellbeing and engagement.
  • Policies and Procedures: Develop, implement, and maintain clear policies and procedures to risk assess, support, and refer students to external bodies as required, and escalate more serious cases to the Student Support Manager and senior management as necessary.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Foster productive relationships with colleagues across the University, supporting service delivery and issue resolution.
  • Liaising with External Bodies: Collaborate with external organizations to improve support for students in need.
  • Workload Management: Plan and organize your own workload, contributing to longer-term plans and programs.
Requirements:
  • Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Psychology or related subjects.
  • Relevant Experience: 2 years or more of experience in the Further Education/Higher Education sector.
  • Key Skills: Sensitivity and empathy, team management, excellent communication skills, problem-solving skills, experience working with diverse students, ability to work collaboratively, and discretion when dealing with confidential matters.
  • Desirable Skills: Experience in risk assessments and crisis management, continuous improvement, and strong IT skills.
