Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Student Support and Wellbeing Lead to join our team at William College. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to students across various educational programmes, managing the wellbeing team, and coordinating activities within the student support and wellbeing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and Lead the Student Wellbeing and Counselling Services: Oversee the delivery of high-quality wellbeing and counselling services to students, ensuring that they receive adequate support with their inquiries and wellbeing matters.
  • Develop and Implement Policies and Procedures: Contribute to the development of robust policies and procedures related to the safeguarding and wellbeing of all students, ensuring that they are aligned with the college's values and objectives.
  • Manage External Service Providers: Manage all external service providers related to wellbeing, ensuring that they meet the college's standards and expectations.
  • Oversee Complex and Risky Situations: Oversee complex and risky situations affecting individual students, providing guidance and support to ensure that they receive the necessary help and resources.
  • Be the Senior Point of Contact: Be the senior point of contact for students and staff with issues relating to disability and mental health, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Collaborate with Departments: Collaborate with various departments to ensure smooth communication and coordination of administrative tasks, ensuring that students receive a seamless service.
  • Analyse and Identify Wellbeing Cases: Analyse and identify wellbeing cases, sharing reports with the Wellbeing Manager to inform decision-making and improve services.
  • Conduct Wellbeing Meetings: Conduct wellbeing meetings with students to discuss their problems, providing guidance and support to help them overcome challenges.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate student records and databases, ensuring data confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Organize Events and Workshops: Assist in organizing and coordinating events, workshops, and student activities, ensuring that they are well-planned and executed.
  • Undertake Administrative Duties: Undertake any other administrative duties as required by the management team, ensuring that the college's operations run smoothly.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Qualifications: Relevant bachelor's degree from a recognised university, with training on a range of disability and/or mental health issues.
  • Experience and Knowledge: Essential knowledge in customer service standards, ability to prioritise competing deadlines and workloads, highly developed oral and written communication skills, and ability to work on own initiative.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Higher education experience and knowledge of counselling techniques to provide emotional support.
