Job Summary:
The Student Support and Wellbeing Coordinator is a critical role in providing comprehensive support to students across various educational programs. This position involves managing the wellbeing team, coordinating activities within the student support and wellbeing team, including administrative tasks and addressing student requests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and Develop Student Wellbeing and Counselling Services: Lead the student wellbeing and counselling team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality support services to students.
- Contribute to Policy Development: Collaborate with the wellbeing manager to develop and implement robust policies and procedures related to student safeguarding and wellbeing.
- Manage External Service Providers: Oversee the management of external service providers related to student wellbeing.
- Student Support and Inquiries: Ensure students receive adequate support with their inquiries and wellbeing matters.
- Complex Situations: Oversee complex and risky situations affecting individual students.
- Disability and Mental Health Support: Be the senior point of contact for students and staff with issues relating to disability and mental health.
- Communication and Coordination: Collaborate with various departments to ensure smooth communication and coordination of administrative tasks.
- Wellbeing Case Analysis: Analyze and identify wellbeing cases and share reports with the wellbeing manager.
- Student Meetings: Conduct wellbeing meetings with students to discuss their problems.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate student records and databases, ensuring data confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
- Event Coordination: Assist in organizing and coordinating events, workshops, and student activities.
- Administrative Duties: Undertake any other administrative duties as required by the management team.
Requirements:
- Relevant Qualifications: A relevant bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
- Training and Experience: Evidence of training on a range of disability and/or mental health issues, and prior experience in a university or similar setting.
- Customer Service Skills: Knowledge of customer service standards, ability to prioritize competing deadlines and workloads, and highly developed oral and written communication skills.
- Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Ability to work on own initiative, demonstrate a positive approach to problem-solving, and adapt to changing circumstances and student needs.
- Confidentiality and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism, and strong interpersonal skills for building rapport and trust with students.
- IT Proficiency: Proficiency in using IT technology to record and search student data bases.
