Role Summary:

Main Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a visible, approachable, and credible leader for patients, families, and staff, providing assistance, guidance, and support.
  • Lead the team and foster successful collaborations between nursing and other disciplines to promote effective multi-disciplinary teamwork.
  • Guide and support the team through transitions, demonstrating determination, integrity, and a balanced perspective.
  • Enhance the roles of team members, assisting them in acquiring the necessary competencies to meet care standards.
  • Inspire all team members and lead by example in clinical practice innovation and expertise.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Registered Nurse with an active PIN, unrestricted practice.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related health field.
  • Recognized teaching and assessment qualification.

Desirable:

  • Master's degree in Nursing or a relevant health-related discipline.

Skills:

Essential:

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven leadership and management capabilities.
  • Excellent IT proficiency.

Desirable:

  • Completion of an advanced communication course.

Experience & Knowledge:

Essential:

  • Experienced nurse at Band 6 or higher.
  • Strong working knowledge of preoperative assessment.

Desirable:

  • Demonstrated understanding or involvement in change management processes.
