Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Respiratory Ward Charge Nurse to join our leadership team at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of staff and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Main Responsibilities- Support the Ward Leader in leading a team of staff to provide a high-quality service, ensuring excellent standards of patient care are delivered and maintained.
- Deputise in the absence of the Ward Manager and take responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of a program of evidence-based nursing care to a group of patients.
- Lead and supervise others in carrying out all aspects of the caring process, including the development of multi-disciplinary working practices and clinical risk management.
- Contribute to the improvement of services and the quality of care provision to meet the needs of patients, service users, and their families.
- Act as a role model, mentoring, teaching, assessing, and supporting students and learners on placement, and participate in the education, development, and mentorship of other staff.

Person Specification- Essential:
- RGN - first level
- Evidence of post-registration educational continuing development
- Desirable:
- Degree
- Essential:
- Evidence of being involved in developments in clinical practice, such as change management and quality improvement projects
- Suitable post-registration experience in the care of acutely unwell patients
- Desirable:
- Development of multi-disciplinary working practices and experience of clinical risk management
- Essential:
- Use initiative and have the ability to lead and coordinate a multi-disciplinary team with minimal supervision
- Act as a clinical role model and mentor, assessor, and supporter for learners within the ward or unit

- Demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise
