The Role:

We are seeking a Packaging Solutions Specialist to oversee all technical packaging needs within our organization. This role will involve taking charge of packaging-related challenges and logistics specifications. Collaborating closely with Suppliers, Technical, Production, Procurement, Quality, and Marketing teams, the Packaging Solutions Specialist will provide innovative solutions for both new and existing products, while also promoting a continuous improvement and sustainability agenda in packaging.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support New Product Development and Innovation processes by defining packaging specifications and ensuring process capability.
  • Lead sustainability initiatives by working with the CSR & Environment Team, Supply Chain, and Procurement, while staying informed on packaging sustainability trends.
  • Identify and source new packaging materials and suppliers in line with design briefs, managing change control and conducting line trials for new packaging projects.
  • Provide technical assistance to Procurement for both new and existing packaging sourcing, focusing on cost and quality enhancements.
  • Ensure that packaging components meet the requirements of third-party manufacturers, machinery, and quality control, managing all related specifications within the Quality Management System.
  • Build strong technical relationships with stakeholders to minimize manufacturing downtime caused by packaging inefficiencies and contribute to profit improvement efforts.
  • Offer expert guidance on all packaging-related matters, including technical artwork approval, packaging waste management, and barcode control to GS1 standards.

Requirements:

We would appreciate your experience in:

  • Relevant fields such as Pharmaceuticals, Cosmetics, Toiletries, or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG).
  • Collaborating with Technical, Quality, Production, Procurement, and Commercial departments to resolve packaging issues.
  • Understanding pharmaceutical regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Establishing relationships with external suppliers and industry experts in packaging.
  • Keeping current with packaging innovations and industry trends.
  • Managing technical documentation, including packaging specifications.
  • Utilizing ERP systems like SAP, QMS management systems such as Q Pulse, and Artwork Management Systems.
