Job Overview

Blackapple Solutions Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Application Packaging Specialist to join our team. As an Application Packaging Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality application packaging and deployment solutions to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with our Development and Infrastructure teams to deliver all packaging requirements.
  • Develop detailed documentation and technical guides for the system, including designs.
  • Package and deploy enterprise applications using AppV, THIN APP, and MSI formats.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues to identify root causes and implement resolutions.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and 3rd party vendors to ensure seamless application deployment.
  • Remotely add applications to client desktops/laptops by packaging them in AppV, THIN APP, or MSI format and deploying in SCCM 2007/2012.
Requirements
  • Proven advanced knowledge of sequencing applications using AppV (preferably v5.1).
  • Proven knowledge of MSI Packaging using Install Shield and AdminStudio.
  • Proven advanced knowledge of scripting with PowerShell.
  • Proven advanced knowledge and working experience of SCCM 2007/2012, especially for application deployment.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and related architectures (both 32-bit and 64-bit).
Qualifications and Experience
  • Demonstrable experience of AppV and MSI packaging.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Windows 7, Server 2008, 2012.
  • Group Policy experience and how it can control applications.
  • Experience of using programming tools such as PowerShell and VB Scripting.
  • Deployment using AppV Full Infrastructure.
  • Familiar with Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft User Environment Virtualisation.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Any relevant qualifications within packaging arena.
  • ITIL V3.
  • MCSE/MCSA/MCP/MCDST.
