Position Overview

The Document Services Department (DSD) plays a crucial role in managing the extensive collection of The National Archives, which includes over 17 million documents. This department is dedicated to the organization, retrieval, and duplication of archival materials, ensuring that users have access to historical records.


Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate reader registration and provide physical access to documents.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for users, offering guidance on accessing collections both in-person and remotely.
  • Assist visitors in navigating our services through various communication channels, including email and live chat.
  • Maintain a welcoming environment for all visitors, acting as an ambassador for The National Archives.

Qualifications

We are seeking an individual with exceptional verbal and written communication skills, coupled with a strong customer service orientation. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic setting, demonstrating the ability to remain composed under pressure while delivering outstanding service.


Work Environment

This position is primarily based onsite, with the possibility of remote work one day per week, subject to operational requirements.
