Role Responsibilities

The work will frequently be innovative and/or present technical and strategic challenges. You will collaborate with leading attorneys in these fields to assist inspiring clients in generating positive impacts, backed by a robust team of knowledgeable lawyers.

Your advisory role will encompass a wide spectrum of issues faced by charities and social enterprises, including establishment, incorporation, mergers, de-mergers, and restructuring; joint ventures and collaborations; commercial agreements, including intellectual property concerns; charity fundraising; and regulatory and governance matters, including crisis management.

Essential Experience

You will possess substantial experience in advising charities and social enterprises on various charity, commercial, and corporate law challenges, enabling you to operate with a significant degree of independence within a collaborative and supportive setting. This includes considerable experience in leading advice related to commercial agreements, intellectual property issues, charity fundraising, and corporate transactions.

  • Capability to perform effectively under pressure and meet stringent deadlines while managing competing priorities across chargeable and non-chargeable tasks.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to adopt a proportionate and commercial perspective.
  • Capacity to work autonomously and as part of a team, including the delegation, supervision, and development of junior lawyers.

Candidate Profile

  • You will be a qualified solicitor in England and Wales with a minimum of 6 years of post-qualification experience in advising charities and social enterprises, particularly in relation to commercial agreements, intellectual property, charity fundraising, and corporate transactions.
  • You will have experience in leading matters with minimal oversight, driving them forward by taking ownership of daily client interactions, project management, and case management.
  • You will exhibit enthusiasm for business development and a proven track record of contributing to the growth of a practice.
  • You are dedicated to client service, building robust relationships, and eager to expand your practice through business development opportunities with potential and existing clients in the purpose-driven and impact sectors.
