Role Responsibilities

The tasks will frequently involve innovative and strategically complex challenges. You will collaborate with top legal professionals in these fields to assist inspiring clients in creating a positive societal impact, backed by a dedicated team of knowledgeable lawyers.

Your advisory role will encompass a broad spectrum of issues, including establishment and incorporation, mergers and de-mergers, restructuring, joint ventures, collaborations, commercial agreements (including intellectual property matters), charity fundraising, and governance issues, including crisis management.

Essential Experience

You will possess extensive experience in providing guidance to charities and social enterprises on various charity, commercial, and corporate law matters, enabling you to operate with a significant degree of independence within a collaborative and supportive framework. This includes substantial experience in managing advice related to commercial agreements, intellectual property, charity fundraising, and corporate transactions.

  • Capability to perform effectively under pressure and meet stringent deadlines while adeptly managing competing priorities across both billable and non-billable tasks.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical skills, with the ability to adopt a balanced and commercial perspective.
  • Capacity to work autonomously and as part of a team, including the delegation, supervision, and development of junior lawyers.

Candidate Profile

  • You will be a qualified solicitor in England and Wales with a minimum of 6 years of post-qualification experience in advising charities and social enterprises, particularly concerning commercial agreements, intellectual property, charity fundraising, and corporate transactions.
  • You will have a proven track record of leading matters with minimal oversight, taking ownership of daily client interactions, project management, and matter oversight.
  • A passion for business development and a demonstrable history of contributing to practice growth is essential.
  • You are committed to client service, fostering strong relationships, and eager to expand your practice through business development opportunities in the purpose-driven and impact sectors.
