Job Title: Construction Legal Specialist

Job Summary:

Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Construction Legal Specialist to join our team. As a Construction Legal Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the Senior Legal Counsel - Construction on legal aspects of a broad range of construction projects, contracts, and contentious matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiating, Drafting, and Collating Construction Contracts: You will negotiate, draft, and collate construction contracts and appointments, PCSAs, and similar legal documents.
  • Reviewing, Negotiating, and Drafting Commercial Contracts: You will review, negotiate, and draft a wide array of commercial contracts.
  • Managing Construction Due Diligence: You will manage the construction due diligence process in respect of financings.
  • Dealing with Construction Disputes: You will deal with early stages of construction disputes.
  • Developing Key Relationships: You will develop key internal relationships with MDs and Directors.
  • Providing Routine Documentary Advice: You will provide routine documentary advice to internal stakeholders, where the advice is not being provided by external lawyers.
  • Dealing with Day-to-Day Construction Related Legal Issues: You will deal with day-to-day construction related legal issues which may arise.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 Years' PQE: You must have a minimum of 3 years' PQE, ideally with construction legal experience.
  • Sound Proven Basis in Construction Law: You must have a sound proven basis in construction law and building development projects.
  • Self-Motivated and Commercial Problem Solving Approach: You must be self-motivated and have a proactive commercial problem-solving approach.
  • Team Player: You must be a team player with a willingness to help others.
  • Flexible and Organized Approach: You must have a flexible and organized approach to work, with the ability to work under pressure.
