Location: East London

Compensation: Competitive, depending on experience

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a solicitor with 3-6 years of post-qualification experience to become a vital part of a growing property litigation division.

Role Summary

As a member of the property litigation team, you will collaborate with colleagues who specialize in various aspects of property disputes. You will receive direct referrals from other departments, such as conveyancing, probate, and family law. A solid background in property litigation is essential.

Our client is currently experiencing a high demand for their litigation services and is looking for an individual to support the expansion of their dispute resolution team. You will manage a diverse portfolio of cases, representing a range of clients, including private individuals and small to medium enterprises.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of property litigation and dispute resolution.
  • Ensure timely and efficient handling of assigned casework.
  • Maintain clear and regular communication with clients, adhering to client care standards.
  • Stay informed about legal developments relevant to your area of expertise.
  • Accurately record time spent on casework and ensure prompt billing upon case conclusion.
  • Handle routine correspondence, negotiations, and advocacy as required.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to deliver comprehensive client services.
  • Analyze legal issues and provide clients with informed advice on the best course of action.
  • Perform administrative tasks in line with office protocols to ensure efficient operations.
  • Provide supervision as necessary and report to supervisors when needed.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Comprehensive experience in property litigation, including landlord possession, disrepair, and tenancy disputes.
  • 3-6 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Advocacy experience at the county court or tribunal is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience working with privately paying clients, including individuals and small to medium-sized businesses.
  • Strong communication skills tailored to the firm's client demographic.
  • Interest in business development activities.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficient IT skills and commercial awareness.
  • Current Practising Certificate required.
