Senior Associate Position 6+PQE

An exceptional opportunity has emerged within the Financial Services Regulatory division of a prestigious law firm for a mid-to-senior level non-contentious solicitor to join their London office.
This esteemed law firm operates in over 30 jurisdictions globally, employing a workforce of more than 1,200 legal professionals. With a strong international presence, the firm provides clients with one of the most dynamic practices in M&A, real estate, financial services, litigation, and corporate risk.
This role is ideal for a seasoned FS Regulatory lawyer eager to establish a significant presence within a well-respected and stable practice. You will have the chance to take the lead on client matters and become the primary Senior Associate/Associate Director for FS Regulatory expertise within the firm. This position is well-suited for individuals looking to position themselves as the dedicated non-contentious FS Regulatory specialist, collaborating with the existing team of FS investigations and enforcement experts.
Your responsibilities will include working alongside key partners in Litigation, Corporate and Finance Transactions, and Real Estate practices, delivering high-quality regulatory law counsel to major clients.
Candidates with specific sub-sector or practice area expertise will receive support to further develop and expand their practices within a highly collaborative team. Experience in payment services and consumer credit is advantageous but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive financial services regulatory advice to a diverse array of institutions, including investment banks, retail banks, investment managers, market infrastructure providers, and FinTech companies.
- Advise clients both internally and externally while working closely with other teams to achieve optimal outcomes for our clients.
Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 6 years' PQE.
- Proven experience advising on a wide range of financial services regulatory matters, including compliance, perimeter issues, asset management, regulatory changes, and transactional support. A solid track record in English law regulatory matters is essential.
- Experience advising UK regulated financial institutions on their regulatory compliance.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to cultivate strong internal and external relationships.
- A solid understanding of profitability drivers and a keen interest in broadening knowledge of commercial issues, the legal market, and their impact on the firm.
