Role Overview

The position of Nuclear Safety Engineer involves crucial contributions to the development of the Rolls-Royce SMR Power Station, ensuring successful navigation through licensing and permitting processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the formulation and upkeep of deterministic analysis programs to guarantee compliance with nuclear safety standards.
  • Facilitate hazard identification initiatives, documenting findings, and maintaining the Hazard Log.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to incorporate deterministic factors into design choices.
  • Uphold quality and governance standards for deterministic analysis submissions.
  • Work with various engineering disciplines to ensure adherence to deterministic analysis requirements and address any discrepancies.
  • Engage with other safety disciplines for thorough safety evaluations.
  • Present findings from deterministic analyses to support licensing objectives.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree qualified or equivalent in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or possess significant relevant industry experience.
  • Proficient in collaborating within a cross-functional project team.
  • Capable of obtaining Security Clearance.
  • Experience utilizing deterministic analysis in the design of Nuclear Power Plants.
  • Familiarity with PWR plant design and operations, including the creation of documentation for hazard identification and safety categorization.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated salary ranges from £40,000 to £52,500, complemented by a performance-related bonus of up to 12.5%. Additionally, an attractive pension scheme is offered, featuring 12% employer and 6% employee contributions. A flexible benefits allowance of £2,200 is also available, allowing for a customized benefits package.
