Role Overview

We are seeking a Nuclear Safety Engineer to play a crucial role in the development of the Rolls-Royce SMR Power Station, ensuring the successful navigation of licensing and permitting processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation and upkeep of deterministic analysis programs to guarantee compliance with nuclear safety standards.
  • Support hazard identification initiatives, documenting findings, and maintaining the Hazard Log.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to incorporate deterministic analysis into design processes.
  • Ensure adherence to quality and governance standards for all deterministic analysis submissions.
  • Work alongside engineering disciplines to address and rectify design compliance gaps.
  • Engage with other safety disciplines to conduct thorough safety assessments.
  • Present findings from deterministic analyses to aid in licensing processes.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree qualified or equivalent in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or substantial relevant industry experience.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary project team.
  • Eligibility to obtain Security Clearance.
  • Experience in applying deterministic analysis in the context of Nuclear Power Plant design.
  • Familiarity with PWR plant design and operations, including the generation of documentation related to hazard identification and safety categorization.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from £40,000 to £52,500, alongside a performance-related bonus of up to 12.5%. Our attractive pension scheme includes 12% employer and 6% employee contributions. Additionally, you will receive a flexible benefits allowance of £2,200, allowing you to tailor your benefits package to your preferences.
