Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chargehand Inspector to join our team at NOV Inc. As a key member of our Inspection department, you will be responsible for supervising a team of inspectors and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the inspection team to ensure efficient and effective completion of tasks.
  • Liaise with third-party inspectors and vendors to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Monitor and report on team performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the Inspection Supervisor to develop and implement best practices and procedures.
  • Mentor and train junior inspectors to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Verify material descriptions against work orders and assess material suitability for inspection.
  • Draw attention to any conditions that may impact the quality or safety of the inspection process.
  • Interact with customers to ensure their expectations are met and provide excellent customer service.
  • Properly select, set up, and use equipment to ensure safe and effective inspection and testing.
  • Accurately mark and record material, including stencilling, numbering, and colour coding.
  • Carry out visual and dimensional inspections, NDT, NDE, and related tasks in accordance with specified requirements.
  • Monitor equipment condition and performance, reporting any issues or concerns.
  • Accurately record all relevant information and results.
  • Classify material according to specified requirements.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting to administrative staff and customers as required.
  • Ensure the working area is kept safe, clean, and orderly.
  • Perform basic maintenance and arrange for spares and consumables as needed.
  • Carry out other tasks as instructed to meet business requirements, provided they are reasonable and within your competence.
  • Perform all duties safely in accordance with the Health and Safety Policy, Employee Handbook, procedures, training, and instruction.
  • Be safety-conscious and report any safety hazards to the HSE representative.

Requirements:

  • MPI/LPI/EMI/UT qualifications (essential).
  • NS-2/DS-1 Specifications experience (essential).
  • Supervisory experience (essential).
  • Knowledge of drilling tubulars and pipe yards (essential).
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook (essential).
