Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering a clinical pharmacy service on the wards, with the chance to care for patients across various specialties, including emergency medicine, surgery, cardiology, intensive care, gastroenterology, pediatrics, frailty, oncology/hematology, and respiratory.
  • Conducting clinical verification and accuracy checks on prescriptions, encompassing inpatient, outpatient, and discharge prescriptions.
  • Providing guidance to medical, nursing, and other healthcare professionals, as well as patients, regarding the safe and effective use of medications.
  • Assisting with medicines reconciliation, discharge planning, and patient counseling, supported by our team of pharmacy technicians.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Master's degree in Pharmacy or equivalent.
  • Registered with the GPhC.

Experience

Essential

  • Completion or nearing completion of foundation pharmacist year.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy setting.
  • Post-registration experience in any sector.

Skills

Essential

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able to work collaboratively within a team or independently, with a flexible approach to tasks.
  • Proficient in computer use.
  • Articulate and numerate.

Desirable

  • Experience in change management.
