As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care. You will be responsible for managing complex cases, developing comprehensive discharge plans, and collaborating effectively with colleagues across various clinical areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with a range of orthopaedic, general medicine, neurology, rehabilitation, and general surgery conditions.
  • Demonstrate advanced clinical skills in trauma and orthopaedics, including complex case management.
  • Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Develop and implement individualized discharge plans based on thorough assessments and problem-solving skills.
  • Contribute to service improvement projects by utilizing research findings and implementing evidence-based practices.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members, providing clinical guidance and support.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience working at a Band 5 level in an acute hospital environment.
  • Significant experience of team working within integrated healthcare settings.
  • Demonstrated clinical skills in trauma and orthopaedics, including complex case management.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to formulate comprehensive discharge plans.
  • Experience in planning and implementing service improvement projects.
  • Competent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online resources.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional demeanor.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working at a Band 6 level.
  • Demonstrated interest in working within the James Paget University Hospital geographical area.
