Key Responsibilities

Delivering a clinical pharmacy service on the wards, with the chance to engage with patients across various specialties, including emergency medicine, surgery, cardiology, intensive care, gastroenterology, pediatrics, frailty, oncology/hematology, and respiratory. Conducting clinical verification and accuracy checks on prescriptions, encompassing inpatient, outpatient, and discharge prescriptions. Providing guidance to medical, nursing, and other healthcare professionals, as well as patients, regarding the safe and effective use of medications. Assisting with medicines reconciliation, discharge planning, and patient counseling, supported by our team of pharmacy technicians.

Qualifications

Essential

Master’s degree in Pharmacy or equivalent. Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

Experience

Essential

Completion or nearing completion of the foundation pharmacist year.

Desirable

Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy setting. Post-registration experience in any sector.

Skills

Essential

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team or independently, with a flexible approach to tasks. Proficient in computer use. Strong analytical and numerical skills.
