Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified Financial Accountant to become part of our team for a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, requiring attendance at our offices in Cardiff or Newport for 2 days each week, while allowing for 3 days of remote work.
As a Financial Accountant within our core Finance Team, you will be instrumental in ensuring that all statutory, regulatory, and group reporting is executed to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct analysis and investigations of aged account balances.
- Perform balance sheet control reconciliations.
- Manage bank and cash reconciliations, implementing process improvements as necessary.
- Document and enhance processes related to control account reconciliations.
Additional Support Responsibilities
- Assist with regulatory reporting (FCA) submissions as required.
- Conduct monthly analytical reviews of business performance and balance sheet status.
- Prepare monthly group accounting returns.
- Facilitate FCA quarterly returns as necessary.
- Handle VAT returns as required.
- Prepare financial statements as needed.
Candidate Profile

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Part or fully qualified accountant status (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a finance-related role.
- Experience in:
- Financial accounting.
- Financial control.
- Account reconciliations.
- Financial services and outsourcing industries (preferred).
