Job Summary

The Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Fellow in Acute Oncology to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a doctor to gain valuable experience in acute oncology and develop their clinical skills in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage patients presenting to both oncology and emergency medicine departments
  • Work closely with the consultant team to provide high-quality patient care
  • Participate in the junior doctor rota and contribute to the development of clinical skills and knowledge
  • Contribute to the development of clinical governance and audit initiatives
Requirements
  • Registered with the GMC with a licence to practise
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • ALS certificate
  • 2 years' experience on an UK Foundation Programme or higher (or equivalent)
  • 1 year experience of working in the NHS as a doctor
  • Minimum of four months full time equivalent experience in UK Emergency Medicine in a Foundation post or equivalent
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience working in a UK Major Trauma Centre or Teaching Hospital Trust in a Foundation post or equivalent
  • Demonstrates a keen interest in acute oncology. At least 4 months clinical experience in the field of oncology.
  • Experience of teaching medical students and junior doctors
  • Awareness of ethical issues
  • Demonstrates understanding of the basic principles of audit, clinical risk management, evidence based practice, patient safety and clinical quality improvement initiatives
