About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Fellow to join our Paediatric Spinal Surgery team at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with our experienced team of paediatric orthopaedic spinal surgeons and contribute to the development of our spinal surgery service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the running of the Orthopaedic Ward with other Paediatric Orthopaedic Fellows and Specialist Registrars
  • Contribute to the development of our spinal surgery service through research and audit projects
  • Participate in weekly clinics, including supernumerary teaching clinics and a multi-disciplinary neuromuscular clinic
  • Develop and deliver research and audit projects pertaining to spinal deformity management in the United Kingdom
  • Supervise a BSc Student from the University of Sheffield
Requirements
  • Qualified medical practitioner
  • Registered with GMC
  • FRCS (Tr &Orth) or currently part of a Training Programme
  • Validated logbook/appraisal document indicating appropriate operative experience
  • Completed Basic Surgical Training in posts approved by the surgical Royal College or approved overseas equivalent
  • Competence in pre- and post-operative management
  • Demonstrated commitment to Spinal Surgery
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree in a relevant field
  • Research experience
  • Teaching qualifications
  • Computer skills
  • Previous experience in research methodology
  • Current Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training
