We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Fellow to join our Paediatric Spinal Surgery team at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with our experienced team of paediatric orthopaedic surgeons and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the supervision of the Orthopaedic Ward with other Paediatric Orthopaedic Fellows and Specialist Registrars.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of research projects within the spinal unit, including the NIHR HTA funded BASIS study.
- Participate in weekly clinics, including supernumerary teaching clinics, and have the opportunity to develop teaching skills.
- Develop and deliver research and audit projects pertaining to spinal deformity management in the United Kingdom.
- Supervise a BSc Student from the University of Sheffield and contribute to their academic development.
- Qualified medical practitioner with a strong background in paediatric orthopaedic surgery.
- Registered with the General Medical Council (GMC).
- FRCS (Tr & Orth) or currently part of a Training Programme.
- Validated logbook/appraisal document indicating appropriate operative experience.
- Completed Basic Surgical Training in posts approved by the surgical Royal College or approved overseas equivalent.
- Competence in pre- and post-operative management.
- Demonstrated commitment to Spinal Surgery.
- Evidence of participation or enthusiasm for audit.
- Understanding of the principles of audit.
- Computer skills.
- Current Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training.
- Previous experience in research methodology.
- Research experience.
- Research courses.
- Grant applications.
- Patient Public Involvement experience.
- Publications.
