About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Oncology to join our team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant in Oncology, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care, leading multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to the development of our cancer services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with colorectal cancer, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
  • Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of cancer services, including clinical guidelines and protocols.
  • Participate in research and audit activities to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.
  • Supervise and educate junior doctors, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a valid license to practice.
  • Completion of Specialist Training (or equivalent) and entry on the Specialist Register of the GMC.
  • Experience in the management of colorectal cancer and a strong understanding of current treatment options.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
