Position: Learning Support Assistant - Secondary SEN


Are you a nurturing and committed Teaching Assistant with a background in aiding students with Autism? We are currently looking for a Learning Support Assistant to become part of a wonderful SEN School in Harrow on a full-time, long-term basis.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored support to students with Autism, addressing both academic and emotional needs.
  • Assist the classroom teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the unique requirements of each student.
  • Support students individually or in small groups, both inside and outside the classroom, to enhance their learning and personal growth.
  • Help foster a positive and inclusive educational atmosphere by implementing effective behaviour management strategies and encouraging positive conduct.
  • Collaborate with the school's leadership team and SENCO to create and execute customized support plans for students.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with students, establishing trust and rapport to promote their engagement in learning activities.
  • Assist in evaluating student progress, providing constructive feedback, and contributing to progress reports.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and external agencies to ensure a unified approach to student support.
  • Maintain thorough records of student progress, behaviour incidents, and any additional assistance provided.
  • Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting SEN students.

In addition to these fulfilling responsibilities, our school provides on-site parking and has a supportive leadership team.
