About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead our Ambulance Care Operations team. As a senior leader, you will be responsible for the operational elements of our Patient Transport Service and Urgent Care Services across Wales.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Service Managers to manage the operational elements of the Patient Transport Service, Urgent Care Service, and Falls Service to provide high-quality, responsive non-emergency ambulance services to the population of Wales.
  • Manage a diverse and high-volume portfolio, requiring strong leadership and management skills.
  • Represent the Welsh Ambulance NHS Trust as required, both internally and externally.

Person Specification
  • Masters-level qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent experience working at a senior level in a service delivery environment.
  • Leadership and/or Management Qualification Level 5 or equivalent.
  • Current Silver/Tactical Commander qualification.
  • Full UK driving license.

Experience
  • Senior Management experience in an operational emergency service/healthcare delivery environment.

  • Experience implementing service improvement plans to include financial and resource accountability.
  • Experience in workforce planning.
  • Proven ability to translate strategy and plans in operational activity.
Aptitude and Abilities
  • Proven track record in delivering operational and cultural change.
  • Ability to handle detail within strategic plans and make informed decisions and judgements.
  • Ability to manage performance and implement quality systems.
  • Ability to see tasks to completion and evaluate effectiveness.
