Main Responsibilities

The University of Hertfordshire is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Campus Services Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our Facilities Team, you will be responsible for a range of tasks that support the smooth operation of our university.

Key Tasks:

  • Portering and Manual Handling: You will be involved in manual handling activities across the university, including office moves, classroom resets, and the movement of equipment.
  • Post and Goods Delivery: You will support the delivery of post and goods across the university, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Signage and Wayfinding: You will assist with the delivery of temporary and reactive signage, ensuring that our campus is well-signposted and easy to navigate.
  • Audits and Inspections: You will complete a range of audits and inspections requested by the Facilities Team, including building audits and utilization audits.
  • Events and Support: You will support a range of university events, from setup and event support to clear-down and post-event activities.
  • Space Management and Removals: You will assist with large removal projects and space management tasks, ensuring that our university is well-organized and efficient.

Requirements:

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills: You will have an excellent customer service manner, with the ability to interact with students, staff, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Proactive Approach: You will have the ability to follow a scheduled work pattern, but also take a proactive approach to tasks and responsibilities.
  • Teamwork and Independence: You will be comfortable working in a team, but also able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Manual Handling and Attention to Detail: You will have the skill to complete manual handling tasks, and a high attention to detail for auditing and inspection tasks.
  • Driving License: A driving license is an essential requirement for this role.

Qualifications:

  • GCSEs or Equivalent: You will have a minimum of GCSEs, grade C/grade 4 or above in Maths and English, or equivalent vocational training or relevant work experience.
