Position Overview

We are seeking an Associate Chief Human Resources Officer to become a vital part of our team at the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire. This role is ideal for a dedicated, innovative, and collaborative senior HR professional.

The UHN Group, comprising Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust, operates with a substantial turnover and employs around 11,000 staff members. Together, we cater to the healthcare requirements of a diverse population of 2 million individuals. As a university teaching hospital, we prioritize education and research, fostering robust academic partnerships that enhance patient outcomes and create exciting opportunities for our workforce.

As a senior member of the HR team, the Associate Chief Human Resources Officer will be instrumental in executing the UHN People strategy. This position will exemplify our organizational values and support the Chief People Officer in all facets of leadership and workforce management across UHN. The role involves providing a comprehensive workforce service and spearheading initiatives aimed at enhancing workforce engagement and performance to meet the organization's strategic objectives and improvement priorities.

Key Responsibilities

The Associate Chief Human Resources Officer will play a pivotal role in the HR team's leadership and the execution of the UHN People strategy. The incumbent will oversee the People Plan, annual business objectives, Care Quality Commission standards, and other workforce-related governance and compliance mandates.

Additionally, the post holder will lead initiatives designed to foster high levels of workforce engagement and performance, thereby supporting the achievement of the organization's strategic and performance goals.

This role encompasses a broad and extensive portfolio, including strategy, policy development, and significant change initiatives. Together with the Chief People Officer, the post holder will ensure that the structure and functions of the HR directorate are aligned with business needs while upholding the highest professional standards.
