Position Overview

Leeds Federated is seeking a dedicated Financial Management Specialist to join their team in a newly established position. This role is pivotal in supporting the organization's mission to provide accessible and sustainable housing solutions.

Location: Flexible working arrangements available, with an expectation of in-office collaboration.

Compensation: Competitive salary of £45,000

About Leeds Federated:

Leeds Federated operates as a housing association managing approximately 4,500 properties across various regions. The organization has developed an in-house contracting service, Arthington Property Services (APS), to efficiently manage planned improvement projects, focusing on enhancing the living conditions of their residents.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Financial Management Specialist, you will play a crucial role in overseeing financial operations for the APS division. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Generating comprehensive management accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, along with detailed variance analysis.
  • Administering payroll processes, ensuring accuracy in handling employee records and related tasks.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance transaction efficiency and reviewing inventory systems.
  • Assisting in the preparation of annual financial statements and contributing to board-level reporting.
  • Providing mentorship and support to colleagues within the finance and APS teams.

Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates who possess a relevant accounting qualification and have demonstrated experience in a similar capacity. Ideal candidates will have:

  • In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.
  • Experience in budget management and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in computerized financial systems and software.
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of successful collaboration across teams.
