Role Purpose

The primary objective of this position is to ensure the timely collection of all outstanding payments owed to Informa, adhering to established collection policies and procedures. This role is vital in achieving collection targets and managing accounts that have surpassed credit limits or terms, thereby minimizing the risk of bad debts.

It is essential to maintain a professional, efficient, and knowledgeable relationship with both customers and colleagues, addressing inquiries promptly and collecting payments within agreed credit terms while fostering and enhancing valuable customer relationships.

All company policies must be followed diligently, and specific responsibilities should be executed within designated timeframes, ensuring an exceptional level of service to all Informa clients and team members.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Credit Controller will undertake the following key responsibilities, along with any other reasonable tasks as assigned:

  • Highlighting the customer portal during outreach efforts
  • Collecting all outstanding payments in accordance with credit control policies to meet collection targets
  • Addressing payments from customers who have exceeded their credit limits or terms to reduce bad debt
  • Building strong internal and external relationships with sales teams and customers
  • Ensuring all customer interaction notes are accurately recorded and updated in the appropriate systems
  • Managing outstanding sales balances and proactively contacting customers for payment prior to event start dates, as applicable
  • Resolving customer queries efficiently and collecting aged debts to minimize provisions for bad debts
  • Handling straightforward disputes and escalating complex issues to the Team Leader
  • Achieving monthly cash collection targets specific to assigned accounts
  • Managing unallocated cash items related to your accounts and collaborating with the Cash Application team to apply funds when necessary
  • Providing weekly reports to the business regarding current debt levels, as relevant to your division
  • Completing necessary documentation for customers to facilitate payment processing (vendor request forms, tax forms, etc.)
Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of customer operations processes
  • Familiarity with best practices in customer service operations
  • Proficiency in SAP systems is preferred
  • Relevant qualifications are advantageous
