Role PurposeThe primary objective of this position is to manage the collection of outstanding payments owed to Informa, adhering to established collection policies and procedures to achieve set targets. Additionally, the role involves recovering funds from clients who have surpassed their credit limits or payment terms, thereby minimizing potential bad debts.
Maintaining a professional, efficient, and knowledgeable relationship with both customers and colleagues is essential. You will be responsible for addressing customer inquiries and ensuring timely payment collection while nurturing valuable customer relationships.
Compliance with company policies is crucial, and you will be expected to complete specific tasks within designated timeframes while delivering exceptional service to all Informa stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Credit Controller will undertake the following key responsibilities, along with any other reasonable duties as required:
- Highlighting the customer portal during outreach efforts
- Collecting all outstanding payments in line with credit control policies to meet collection targets
- Recovering funds from clients who have exceeded credit limits or payment terms to mitigate bad debts
- Fostering strong internal and external relationships with sales teams and customers
- Ensuring all customer communication notes are accurately recorded and updated in the appropriate systems
- Managing outstanding sales balances and proactively contacting customers for payment prior to relevant deadlines
- Resolving customer queries promptly and addressing aged debts to minimize provisions for bad debts
- Handling straightforward disputes and escalating complex issues to the Team Leader
- Achieving monthly cash collection targets specific to your assigned accounts
- Overseeing unallocated cash items related to your accounts and collaborating with the Cash Application team for resolution
- Providing weekly reports to the business regarding current debt levels for your division
- Completing necessary documentation for customers to facilitate payment processing (e.g., vendor request forms, tax certificates, etc.)
- Strong understanding of customer operations processes
- Familiarity with best practices in customer service operations
- Proficiency in SAP systems is preferred
- Relevant qualifications are advantageous
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to cultivate relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
