The primary objective of this position is to ensure the collection of all outstanding payments owed to Informa Global Support, adhering to established collection policies and procedures. This role is crucial in meeting collection targets and minimizing bad debts by effectively managing accounts that have exceeded their credit limits or payment terms.
As a Senior Credit Controller, you will maintain a professional, efficient, and knowledgeable interface with both customers and colleagues. Your ability to resolve customer inquiries and collect payments within agreed credit terms will be essential in fostering and enhancing valuable customer relationships.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Credit Controller will be responsible for the following key tasks, along with any other reasonable duties as assigned:
- Highlighting the customer portal during communications with clients.
- Collecting all outstanding payments in accordance with credit control policies to meet collection targets.
- Addressing payments from customers who have surpassed their credit limits or terms to reduce bad debt.
- Building strong internal and external relationships with sales teams and customers.
- Ensuring all customer interaction notes are accurately recorded and updated in the appropriate systems.
- Managing outstanding sales balances and proactively contacting customers for payment prior to relevant deadlines.
- Resolving customer queries promptly and collecting aged debts to minimize provisions for bad debts.
- Handling simple disputes and escalating more complex issues to the Team Leader.
- Achieving monthly cash collection targets specific to your assigned accounts.
- Managing unallocated cash items and collaborating with the Cash Application team to ensure proper allocation.
- Providing weekly reports on current debt levels to the business as required.
- Completing necessary documentation for customers to facilitate payment processing.
- Strong understanding of customer operations processes.
- Knowledge of best practices in customer service operations.
- Familiarity with SAP systems is preferred.
- Relevant qualifications are advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to cultivate relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential.
- Ability to remain approachable and composed under pressure.
- Knowledge of relevant internal systems and processes.
- Demonstrated integrity, tact, and diplomacy.
