The primary objective of this position is to ensure the timely collection of all outstanding payments owed to Informa, adhering to established collection policies and procedures. This role is crucial in achieving collection targets and minimizing bad debts by addressing accounts that have surpassed their credit limits or payment terms.
Maintaining a professional, efficient, and knowledgeable relationship with both customers and colleagues is essential. The role requires resolving customer inquiries and securing payments within the agreed credit terms while fostering and enhancing valuable customer relationships.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Credit Controller will undertake the following key responsibilities, along with any other reasonable tasks as assigned:
- Highlighting the customer portal during communications with clients.
- Collecting all outstanding payments in accordance with credit control policies to meet collection goals.
- Addressing accounts that have exceeded credit limits or payment terms to reduce bad debt risk.
- Building strong internal and external relationships with Sales teams and customers.
- Ensuring all customer interaction notes are accurately recorded and updated in SAP or the relevant system.
- Managing outstanding sales balances and proactively contacting customers for payment prior to event dates, as applicable.
- Resolving customer queries promptly and effectively, focusing on minimizing aged debt.
- Handling straightforward disputes and escalating complex issues to the Team Leader.
- Achieving monthly cash collection targets specific to assigned accounts.
- Managing unallocated cash items on accounts and collaborating with the Cash Application team to ensure proper allocation.
- Providing weekly reports to the business on current debt levels as necessary.
- Completing required documentation for customers to facilitate payment processing (e.g., vendor request forms, tax certificates).
- Strong understanding of customer operations processes.
- Familiarity with best practices in customer service operations.
- Proficiency in SAP is preferred.
- Relevant qualifications are advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to cultivate relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to remain calm and approachable under pressure.
- Knowledge of and capability to utilize relevant internal systems.
- Demonstrating integrity, tact, and diplomacy in all interactions.
