About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Practitioner Social Worker to join our team at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our CAMHS team, you will be responsible for providing social work assessment and intervention to children and young people accessing our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Safeguarding Children Team to provide advice and guidance to the wider CAMHS team.
  • Offer advice, guidance, and consultation to professionals within CAMHS regarding social care eligibility and care pathways.
  • Support and monitor children, young people, and their families for children in an inpatient provision, ensuring a comprehensive package of care post discharge.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with a Social Work qualification and current registration. Desirable qualifications include additional qualifications in mental health/CAMHS and postgraduate training in a therapeutic model such as CBT or DBT.

Essential experience includes demonstrable experience post-qualification in a social work setting working with vulnerable children and families, experience of working with children and young people who have serious mental illness, and experience in completing comprehensive assessments in mental health or health and social needs.

Desirable experience includes demonstrable experience of working with families and children who are vulnerable and/or difficult to engage.
