Spencer Clarke Group is collaborating with a local authority to recruit Educational Support Coordinators to assist small groups of students exhibiting anti-social behavior.


Primary Objective:

To oversee and mentor learners, eliminating obstacles to education to foster effective engagement, enhance individual learning experiences, elevate aspirations, and support students in reaching their maximum potential.

Supervise the Learning Mentor and facilitate students' transition from KS3 to KS4.

Key Duties:
Guide and supervise learners utilizing alternative educational provisions.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the school curriculum, alternative educational options, and the pastoral care framework.
Formulate strategies to detect early signs of disengagement and execute timely interventions.
Train and inform staff on integrating these strategies into everyday practices.
Assist the student support team in tracking attendance, addressing truancy, and supporting at-risk learners.
Collaborate with the Project Lead to manage a caseload of students and initiate projects and re-integration strategies.
Respond to unexpected classroom incidents that require intervention.
Establish effective mentoring relationships and promote engagement in educational opportunities.
Facilitate student withdrawal and re-integration processes.
Act as the primary contact for child protection concerns.
Oversee personalized action plans for learners.
Develop and implement strategies to address barriers to learning, including mentoring resources.
Share best practices within local networks and partner organizations to enhance pastoral care services.
Engage with external agencies on matters such as substance misuse, sexual health awareness, bullying, self-harm, mental health, and child protection.
Participate in regular team meetings.
Maintain a professional demeanor at all times within the Learning Hub.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Essential Qualifications:
Willingness to pursue and enhance qualifications/training.
2-3 years of experience working with young individuals, particularly those with BESD.
Knowledge of complex child protection issues and protocols.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Demonstrated ability to manage challenging behavior.
Proficient IT skills and capability to collaborate with supporting services in both statutory and voluntary sectors.

Desirable Qualifications:
Teaching Qualification (Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, PGCE, or Cert Ed).
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant field.
Experience with vocational qualifications such as BTEC, NVQs.
Prior experience with youth service partner organizations.
Familiarity with local districts and partner agencies in youth services.
